The challenge facing all correctional institutions is to provide continuity of care while complying with all prevailing local, state and federal standards.
CONMED recognizes the importance of standards compliance and maintaining a vigilant oversight program to ensure Facilities successfully meet all audit requirements from governmental agencies,
as well as certifying professional associations.
Accreditations and Certifications
Consequently, operations, documentation and the Facility itself are inspected as part of a CONMED Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program. Proactive measures are taken to ensure alignment with all required standards on a continuing basis, thus ensuring that CONMED contracted Facilities are audit compliant at all times, not simply in anticipation of inspections. (This includes self-auditing that is conducted by CONMED.)
Because of this stringently managed program, compliance levels meet and exceed the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care
(NCCHC) Standards and guidelines. CONMED further complies with all HIPAA requirements
for healthcare facilities.
In addition, CONMED has an outstanding record of compliance with state audits and has consistently received state certifications in our contracted correctional Facilities, as applicable. This is critical when serving clients nationwide.
In fact, CONMED's contracted medical services programs have never failed an audit by any external entity in the quarter-century history of our Company.
