Director of Nursing (DON)
Under the supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), the Director of Nursing plans, develops, and administers generalized nursing services. The Director of Nursing must have the flexibility to rotate hours, shifts and/or assigned areas and be available to be called upon to provide adequate coverage during emergencies, as needed.

Qualified candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where employment is being sought.  The DON must have a minimum of five (5) years nursing experience and direct administrative responsibility, preferably in corrections, and possess and maintain current CPR and Medication Certifications.

Registered Nurse (RN)
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides healthcare services to facility inmates within the scope of his/her license to practice, and at the direction of licensed and qualified physicians and mid-level providers.  The RN is expected to oversee aspects of care delivered by those possessing lower level licensure or credentials (i.e., LPN, CNA, etc.).

Qualified candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where employment is being sought and possess and maintain current CPR certification.  Prior medical / surgical or emergency / trauma experience is preferred.  Previous corrections experience preferred.

Chronic Care Nurse (RN)
The Chronic Care Nurse (RN) is responsible for the overall tracking, management, and timely care provisions for patients with chronic medical conditions.  This position works closely with on-site physicians and mid-level providers to ensure that chronically ill patients are seen on a routine and scheduled basis dictated by their disease process.

Qualified Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where employment is being sought, and possess and maintain current CPR certification.  Three (3) years of relevant clinical experience is required.  Prior medical / surgical or emergency / trauma experience is preferred.  Previous corrections experience preferred.

Infection Control Nurse (RN)
The Infection Control Nurse (RN) is responsible for evaluating, planning, and coordinating healthcare services for inmates, or segments of inmates suspected or proven to have an infectious or communicable disease.  This position is expected take a proactive approach to preventing disease and the spread of disease.

Qualified candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where employment is being sought, and possess and maintain current CPR certification.  Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience is required.  The Infection Control Nurse (RN) must also have a working knowledge of epidemiology with surveillance and statistical reporting and experience with automated systems.  Prior medical / surgical or emergency / trauma experience is preferred.  Previous corrections experience preferred.

Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)
The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) works in collaboration with other medical professionals to coordinate and perform many aspects of patient care for jail inmates.  The LPN/LVN works within his/her scope of license at the direction of a licensed Registered Nurse (RN), and may at times perform tasks as lawfully delegated by an RN.

Qualified candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed as an LPN/LVN in the state where employment is being sought, and possess and maintain current CPR certification.  Prior medical / surgical or emergency / trauma experience is preferred.  Previous corrections experience preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists nursing with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for personal needs and comfort of patients as well as providing information on patient conditions while assisting Registered Nurses with medical equipment, and patient vital signs. Certified Nursing Assistants perform a variety of nursing care duties to include: personal care, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and charting following established procedures.

Qualified candidates must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have two (2) years of related experience, currently certified as a Nursing Assistant in the state where employment is being sought, and must possess and maintain current CPR certification.
